Hires

Tribe Payments, the digital payments and infrastructure orchestrator which specialises in issuer and acquirer processing, continues its rapid expansion with key appointments to its leadership team. Guy Houghton joins as Tribe’s chief revenue officer, while Dusty Miller is named head of European sales. Back in April, the company also welcomed Jo Lawrence as head of customer success.

Pay.UK, the independent, not-for-profit operator of the UK’s national retail payments systems, appoints David Morris to the newly created role of chief operating officer. Morris previously held the role of chief technology officer at Pay.UK. Pay.UK will recruit two senior executives to join Morris’ leadership team: director of payments and director of technology. Pay.UK is also seeking to appoint a chief transformation officer.

Delta Capita, a global financial services consulting, managed services and technology provider, has named Caroline O’Sullivan as its head of Ireland. She will be responsible for developing and executing Delta Capita’s regional business strategy with a focus on driving sustainable growth across all core service lines in addition to managing client relationships and overseeing business operations.

Xceptor, the intelligent automation platform for financial markets, appoints Grant Coombe as chief revenue officer. Coombe’s appointment aims to play a pivotal role in accelerating Xceptor’s growth plans. Most recently, Coombe served as chief revenue officer at FundApps, and previously held leadership roles at Saleslocker and Bloomberg LP.

Conga, a revenue lifecycle management solutions company, hires Jeff Lautenbach as chief revenue officer. In this role, Lautenbach is responsible for leading Conga’s global sales organisation, including the field sales team, pre-sales functions, sales operations and partners while working closely with Conga’s chief marketing officer to drive Conga’s go-to-market strategy.  He most recently served as CRO of Rent.

More hires

Investigative technology company Altia has appointed two senior figures in a bid to drive further growth across Asia, Pacific, Australia, and China. Rob Cordy joins as head of sales with Brandan Lizotte taking on the position of senior business development manager, with both tasked with developing the company’s presence in the region.

iPipeline, a provider of digital solutions for the life insurance and wealth management industries hires Steve Cover as chief technology officer. Cover will establish the future technical vision and roadmap for the organisation’s next phase of growth. He previously worked at technology companies such as UKG, Horizon Software International, UnitedHealth Group, Microsoft, and most recently, CentralSquare Technologies.

Investments and funding

OKX Ventures, the investment arm of crypto exchange and Web3 technology company OKX, and Aptos Foundation, a global blockchain leader, jointly launch a new $10million fund aimed at supporting the growth of the Aptos ecosystem and widespread adoption of Web3. The fund will be used to develop an accelerator program, operated in partnership with Ankaa.

AI startup Sybill announces a $11million funding round. Sybill’s oversubscribed Series A was led by Greycroft with participation also from Neotribe Ventures, Powerhouse Ventures and Uncorrelated Ventures. The company has now raised $14.5million. With the fresh funding, Sybill aims to expand the functionality of its AI assistant to automate more administrative tasks as well as provide deeper buyer insights.

Pichi Finance, a trustless points trading protocol offering price discovery to tokens pre and post-TGE, has announced the completion of a $2.5million seed funding round, led by UOB Venture Management, Signum Capital and Mantle Network. The round also included participation from DWF Ventures, Wise3 Ventures and Genesis Block Ventures.

Partnerships

Paymentology, the global issuer-processor, has announced a partnership with Salaam Bank’s Waafi, on the launch of its co-branded tokenised tap-to-pay digital companion card, and physical card, for Waafi mobile app users in the Horn of Africa. Waafi is a mobile money app born from the collaboration between Salaam Bank in East Africa and Hormuud extending to Telesom, and Golis, a telecom provider in Somalia.

PAYSTRAX, the payment processing solution for merchants across the EU and UK, has teamed up with global fraud and financial crime prevention company Featurespace to enhance security measures against fraudulent activities. Featurespace’s solution will give PAYSTRAX the tools to identify and manage fraud in merchant transactions across the UK and Europe.

Ampere, the neobank providing all-in-one financial services for SMEs, forges a partnership with Mastercard to expand its services and transfers offering, marking a milestone in its mission to streamline financial solutions for SMEs. This announcement follows Ampere’s strategic expansion across the European Union.

Thredd, the global payments platform, reports both industry-wide growth in fintech-led digital payments and the renewal of its partnership with Zilch, the ad-subsidised payments network. The Zilch-Thredd partnership combines payment network connectivity and transaction management expertise.
