Dock and Visa Work Together to Bolster Financial Inclusion in Colombia

Dock, the banking and technology company in Latin America, is turning its attention to Colombia as it looks to make financial services more accessible and inclusive. With support from Visa, Dock will be able to continue increasing the use of electronic payments in the country, increasing its client base and projects.

Currently operating more than 70 million active accounts and more than eight billion transactions annually, Dock is looking to boost its figures in Colombia. Partnering with Visa will allow the banking firm to have a principal member licence with Visa, enabling it to offer services to third parties. This means that it is ready to offer some of Visa’s services from the Dock platform to companies from different sectors that want to offer financial services in Colombia.

Anderson Olivares, general manager LatAm of Dock

“Colombia is a strategic market and an investment priority for Dock in its expansion plan in Latin America. We are optimistic about the arrival of new clients in the country thanks to the alliance with Visa,” says Anderson Olivares, general manager LatAm of Dock.

“For us, this opportunity represents the possibility of continuing to contribute to the development and financial inclusion of Colombia through technologies that allow for greater security and ease in payment systems,” said Adriana Cárdenas, general manager of Visa in Colombia.

“Working hand in hand with Dock encourages us to continue to be two steps ahead of the financial needs of consumers in order to offer them appropriate tools that significantly contribute to the country and the development of their businesses.”

Creating a better financial ecosystem in Colombia

Dock and Visa are enabling organisations that want to offer financial services in Colombia the opportunity to close economic gaps and boost the economy through new technologies. This in turn, will allow for greater access to finance and more inclusion in the country.

By the end of 2024, three clients are already in the implementation phase and several more are in advanced stages of negotiations to launch their projects. “This remarkable progress is the result of the successful strategic alliance between Visa and Dock, which has proven to be a key driver of growth and innovation in the sector,” Olivares concluded.
