Allpay Teams Up with Turn2us and WEA to Combat Financial Inequality

Allpay Limited, a UK payment solutions provider, has partnered with two national charities, Turn2us and the Workers’ Education Association (WEA), to address financial inequality and promote social value across the UK.

In July 2024, allpay donated £3,000 to each charity, supporting Turn2us in providing financial security resources and WEA in empowering adults through education.

This collaboration is part of allpay’s broader commitment to social responsibility, with plans to continue supporting these causes through future profits, reinforcing its dedication to societal wellbeing.

“Our partnerships with Turn2us and WEA reflect allpay’s dedication to addressing societal challenges like financial inequality and adult education,” said Lizi Bueno, strategy and innovation lead at allpay Limited.

“We believe that by supporting these initiatives, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of many, while also reinforcing our commitment to social responsibility.”

Supporting Turn2us

Turn2us, a UK charity focused on ensuring financial security for all, will channel the donation to bolster its ongoing efforts to assist those grappling with financial difficulties. The charity recognises that financial hardship not only strains mental and physical wellbeing but can also lead to social isolation.

With the £3,000 from allpay, Turn2us aims to reach approximately 300 to 350 individuals and households, providing them with vital resources like the Helpline and Benefits Calculator. These tools empower people to increase their income by accessing welfare benefits and grants, providing crucial relief to those facing economic challenges.

“We are very pleased to be collaborating with a business like allpay, so that we can support more people in the UK to have financial security,” says Peter Olawaye, corporate partnerships manager at Turn2us.

Supporting WEA

The Workers’ Education Association (WEA), founded in 1903, commits to making adult education accessible to all. Allpay’s donation supports educational sessions that help adults, particularly in low-income communities, develop essential skills in employability, financial literacy, and digital literacy. This initiative aims to engage 60 participants in learning, with 25 expected to pursue further education.

Chris Morgan, director of external relations at WEA, also added: “The WEA is delighted to partner with allpay Limited to tackle the growing problem of financial insecurity. Adult education empowers individuals with the skills and knowledge necessary to break that cycle. We look forward to working together.”
