News & Views | Episode 168: Support For Savings Initiatives & Financial Accessibility Gap

On this week’s episode of News & Views, The Fintech Times Podcast team speak about the Money and Pensions Service (MAPS) putting together a new charter, the UK Savings Charter, to help improve financial well-being among customers and discuss what more fintechs could be doing to bridge the financial accessibility gap. Joining us this episode is Bethanie Kennedy, partnership manager at IE Hub.

Although without Polly this week, the Podcast Team’s numbers were made up as special guest Bethanie Kennedy, partnership manager at IE Hub joined Tom and Francis this week. Initially discussing the MAPS new UK Savings Charter, Bethanie and the Podcast Team were all in agreement that it was the responsibility of organisations to ensure their users were aware of the latest ways in which they could save, and in turn have better financial health.

Following this, Bethanie explores how firms can bridge the financial accessibility gap. She specifically notes what IE Hub is doing in the space. Meanwhile, Tom and Francis agree that firms must address who the vulnerable customers are before stating they are trying to bridge financial accessibility.
