Saudi Arabia Welcomes Money20/20: Tahaluf Discusses Its Role in Riyadh’s Fintech Push

As Saudi Arabia continues its journey into a fintech powerhouse under Vision 2030, the arrival of Money20/20 Middle East in Riyadh next year reflects the nation’s expanding influence on the global financial technology scene.

Known as the premier event where the global fintech community converges, Money20/20 has established editions across major financial hubs, including Las Vegas, Amsterdam and Bangkok. Each location serves as a platform for innovators and industry leaders to showcase groundbreaking solutions and discuss trends shaping the future of finance, such as digital banking and smart payment systems.

Now, Money20/20 Middle East joins the party, bringing the same level of discourse and opportunity to Riyadh, inviting the region to join in the global fintech conversation.

Ahead of next year’s conference, Mark Walker, editorial director at The Fintech Times, chatted to Annabel Mander, executive vice president at Tahaluf, known for orchestrating large-scale tech events that have reshaped the regional tech and financial ecosystems, such as LEAP and Black Hat Middle East.

LEAP is probably the largest and most well-known event within my portfolio. The first edition took place in 2022, and over the last three years, we’ve grown to become the most attended technology event in the world,” Mander said. “We do things that have big impact, that are extremely global and really cater to the relevant communities.”

Mander also reflected on the success of 24 Fintech, which debuted in Riyadh in September 2024 and set the foundation for Money20/20’s expansion into the region.

“When we realised that opportunity was available, it made perfect sense for us to look at transporting 24 Fintech to Money20/20,” she said. “We already had all of the right foundations – the right team, the right local governmental partners – but having this partnership established with a major international player really highlights a major opportunity for us to tap into the Money20/20 network.”
