Tribe Payments Joins Singapore FinTech Association, With Plans to Expand Footprint Across APAC

Tribe Payments, the digital payments and infrastructure orchestrator specialising in issuer and acquirer processing, has become the latest fintech to join the Singapore FinTech Association.

Shortly after expanding into Asia Pacific (APAC) by opening its Singapore office in October 2024, Tribe Payments aims to strengthen its presence in the region by joining the Singapore FinTech Association (SFA), signalling its commitment to fostering innovation and collaboration across APAC.

The SFA, a cross-industry, non-profit organisation, connects nearly 900 organisations across more than 40 countries, serving as a hub for collaboration among fintech companies, regulators, and financial institutions. Through its membership, Tribe gains access to a wealth of opportunities, including forging valuable partnerships, participating in key industry advocacy efforts, and engaging with top innovators shaping the future of fintech in APAC.

Reuben Lim, CEO of the Singapore Fintech Association

Reuben Lim, CEO of the Singapore Fintech Association, said: “The SFA serves as a catalyst for innovation and industry collaboration, and together with our members, we remain committed to engaging stakeholders to drive the growth and evolution of the payments landscape in APAC. We believe that Tribe’s innovation – with its modular issuer and acquirer processing solutions – will thrive in the region through Singapore.”

Tribe will also benefit from the SFA’s networking events, insights into evolving regional regulations, and inclusion in the prestigious SFA FinTech Registry. Membership also offers priority consideration for international trade missions such as the ASEAN FinTech Movement, elevating Tribe’s profile as a global PayTech leader.

Backing APAC growth

Tribe says it plans to actively participate in SFA subcommittees and events, working alongside other industry leaders to address challenges, share insights, and drive meaningful innovation. These efforts align with the company’s mission to deliver cutting-edge payment solutions that enable businesses to scale, navigate regulatory complexities, and unlock growth opportunities through its payment technology.

Matt Weir, general manager of Asia-Pacific at Tribe Payments, commented: “This membership provides an excellent platform for us to connect with industry leaders, share our expertise, and advocate for advancements that empower businesses and consumers. Singapore’s role as a global fintech hub makes it the ideal base to expand our network, support our clients, and demonstrate our capabilities in the region.

“We see this as an opportunity to not only expand our footprint but also share our expertise, advocate for industry best practices, and explore meaningful collaborations that drive innovation and financial inclusion across the region.”

With the APAC digital payments market poised for further growth, Tribe hopes its cloud-based payments processing platform can help deliver scalable solutions tailored to the region’s evolving needs. The company’s proven success in Europe – working with payment giants like Mastercard, Visa, and UnionPay International – sets the stage for a strong APAC impact.
