African paytech, Flutterwave has completed its next major milestone as it announces a new partnership with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN).
SMEDAN is a Nigerian agency that works towards assisting small and medium scale enterprises to overcome poor infrastructure in the management of business operations. With both companies aligning on their goals of improving the small and medium business (SME) sector in Nigeria, the new partnership will provide firms with secure digital storefronts and payment solutions. In turn, this will enable them to accept payments from customers worldwide through mobile wallets, card payments and bank transfers.

Bolstering Nigeria’s economic developments
With Nigeria’s small businesses forming the backbone of the economy, this collaboration leverages the strengths of both organisations — Flutterwave’s expertise in fintech and SMEDAN’s deep-rooted network within the MSME ecosystem — to create sustainable solutions that drive long-term business success.
Charles Odii, director-general and CEO of SMEDAN
Through this partnership, Flutterwave and SMEDAN reaffirm their commitment to empowering small businesses, promoting financial inclusion, and driving Nigeria’s economic development in the digital age.
