Dubai will welcome global financial leaders, regulators and academics for the 10th P2P Financial Systems International Workshop (P2PFISY) in October.
Organised by the DLT Science Foundation (DSF) in partnership with the Virtual Asset Regulatory Authority (VARA), the event will explore the future of finance and the transformative impact of decentralised technologies.
Previously hosted by major institutions like the Federal Reserve, Deutsche Bundesbank and the European Central Bank, the workshop has become a central platform for discussions on cutting-edge financial innovations.
The 10th anniversary edition, held on 16 to 17 October 2024, will feature a packed agenda including keynote speeches, panel discussions, and presentations from industry experts. Key topics will cover national sovereignty, stablecoins, central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), real-world asset tokenisation, sustainable finance, as well as financial inclusion. The event will also explore emerging issues such as consumer protection in the age of generative AI.
The workshop will also coincide with Dubai’s Future Blockchain Summit and GITEX, reinforcing the city’s position as a global hub for innovation in finance and technology.
‘Valuable platform’
Dr. Paolo Tasca, co-founder and chairman of the DLT Science Foundation, noted the strategic importance of holding the event in Dubai, highlighting the city’s rapid rise in crypto adoption and praising VARA’s regulatory expertise. “We believe this workshop will provide a valuable platform to share insights and facilitate crucial conversations at the forefront of financial technology,” Tasca said.
VARA’s CEO, Matthew White, shared a similar sentiment, reflecting also on how the workshop aligns with Dubai’s commitment to fostering innovation in the digital finance space. “We look forward to engaging with global leaders, academics, and industry experts to continue driving the evolution of P2P financial systems.”
