Digital Pound Foundation Joins Innovate Finance Community to Forward Digital Money Talks

The Digital Pound Foundation (DPF), the independent not-for-profit organisation incorporated in 2021 to work towards the implementation of a well-designed digital pound and an effective and diverse ecosystem for new forms of digital money, has partnered with Innovate Finance, the UK’s fintech industry body to become the latest member of the Innovate Finance Community.

Recognising the importance of debate on new forms of digital money, DPF will become an initiative within Innovate Finance with a dedicated work stream. This stream, the Digital Pound Foundation Programme, will focus on digital money in both public and private forums.

Janine Hirt, CEO of Innovate Finance

Janine Hirt, CEO of Innovate Finance said: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome the Digital Pound Foundation within the Innovate Finance community. This supports our strategic focus on deepening expertise and engagement in fintech verticals including payments and digital assets.

“Over the last three years the DPF has moved from strength to strength, and has made remarkable progress in raising awareness about the benefits and opportunities that adoption of a well-designed digital pound and new forms of digital money will offer. We are looking forward to combining forces and supporting the continued forward momentum of this agenda.”

Developing the UK’s digital money space

In light of both organisations sharing a vision for developing the UK’s digital assets and digital money markets, Innovate Finance will also establish a DPF Member Advisory Group. This will shape the programme with dedicated resources, supported by the wider Innovate Finance team and activities.

Claire Conby, executive director and operations and innovation lead of the Digital Pound Foundation

Claire Conby, executive director and operations and innovation lead of the Digital Pound Foundation commented: “Thanks to our strong partnership with Innovate Finance, we are now able to advance even faster and further on the digital money agenda by working together.

“It is a testament to the body of work developed by the DPF and its community over the past three years that we can further increase our impact on the mainstream of UK public debate by joining the Innovate Finance family. With the ongoing support of our members, we are extremely excited about this next stage of the DPF’s evolution”.
